Zürich West

Zürich West is a rapidly redeveloping area located in Zürich's former industrial quarter west of the Hauptbahnhof along the Limmat River. Highlights include the Pulse5 mixed-use building—a combination of renovated factory and new construction—and the Schiffbau, a former ship building hall which has been renovated to include a fancy restaurant and several theater spaces. The neighborhood also has many bars and restaurants, as well as a multiscreen movie complex.

The neighborhood was considered in an exhibition called "Be Creative! The creative imperative", which took place in 2002 and 2003 at Museum für Gestaltung Zürich. The exhibition's website has a link to seven different loft-housing projects in the Zurich west neighborhood.
